Individual Therapy

Individual therapy, also known as one-on-one counseling or psychotherapy, is a personalized form of mental health support where a person works directly with a trained therapist to explore their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and life challenges. The focus is on the individual’s unique experiences and goals — whether that’s managing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, self-esteem struggles, or life transitions. It’s a safe, confidential space where people can unpack their emotions, gain self-awareness, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Therapists use a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to the person’s needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps challenge and reframe negative thought patterns, Psychodynamic Therapy explores how past experiences influence current behavior, Mindfulness-Based Therapy promotes emotional regulation and self-awareness, and Humanistic Therapy focuses on self-acceptance and personal growth. The therapist may also integrate techniques from different approaches, depending on what resonates most with the client. The goal isn’t to “fix” someone — it’s to empower them to better understand themselves, improve emotional well-being, and make meaningful, lasting changes in their life.
